Overview

All PHARMA TEST automated friability testing Instruments meet the latest requirements of the USP monograph and EP

Tablet Tester Series

PTFERA and PTFDR are automated Friability Testing Instrument, available as single or multiple drum apparatus. They are manufactured in compliance to the monographs of the USP , European EP and other Pharmacopoeias. The tested samples are automatically discharged into individual stainless steel collectors without having to remove the drums from their axis. Using the PTFDR instruments an Analytical Balance can be connected to the COM port of the PTFDR to perform the Weight test prior and after Friability testing. A report is printed if a suitable PCL or DOT Matrix printer is connected to the printer port.

Magnetic Tablet

The PT-MT3 instrument, the new Magentic Tablet with built-in calibrated load cell, is used to qualify and calibrate the maximum hardness result detection and speed/force increase rate of most Tablet Hardness Test Instruments in the field.

PTF1DR

Single Drum Automated Friability Tester

The PTF1DR is a single drum (PTF3DR = 3 drums) automated friability testing instrument made in full compliance to the monographs of the USP and EP Pharmacopoeias. They offer an online connection COM port for an Analytical Balance for Weight control before and after a test run. The standard printer port may be used to connect a suitable PCL or DOT Matrix Printer to receive a full test report. The PTFDR is capable of operation over the range of 20 to 70 rpm. Either a number of revolutions or a rotating time may be programmed. At the end of a run the samples are automatically discharged into a stainl. steel sample collector for easy dedusting and re-weighing. An alpha numeric keypad allows user entry of product specific information. There is also a LCD screen to display test results as well as data entries. The PTFDR offers a choice of either a single test or a series of tests from which statistical information is derived. The balance COM port is available for a Sartorius or Mettler balance and a printer port to connect a DOT Matrix or PCL type Desk- or LaserJet printer, the RS232 port may be used to transmit data or control the PTF DR from outside.

PTF30ERA

3 Drums, Semi Automated Friability Tester

The PTF30ERA has three (PTF60ERA = 6 drums) separate drums mounted on a single axis. The instrument is supplied with six (“Roche”) Friability Test drums as standard although it may also be used with the Abrasion drums as an optional extra. Operation is virtually silent and the instrument may be set to rotate at speeds over the range of 20 to 60 rpm. The drums are made from Plexiglas (Perspex) and are in two pieces which aids cleaning. Anti static coated Plexiglas Drums are available as an option. The PTFERA Friability Testing instrument are designed in compliance to the monographs of the USP and EP pharmacopoeias. Once the test is finished, then the samples are discharged into individual stainless steel Collectors where they can have any residual dust removed. From there, they can be weighed and the weight loss has to be calculated. The instrument housing is made from stainless steel to comply with common GLP regulations
